- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Valerie P -- Read Alongside with Your Bible and Be Blessed : I've been wanting to learn more about infant baptism for a while now. My mom mentioned baptizing my daughter when she was born and I had always believed in more the Believer's Baptism after a confessed surrender to Christ. - 5.0 out of 5 stars from M. T. Bradley -- Seeing baptism as a blessing : Written by an experienced pastor in the reformed tradition, this little book is an excellent explanation of the practice of infant baptism in the formed tradition. Yes, there are a lot of books out there tackling this issue. Some are quite lengthy, and many approach the issue from a very scholarly or polemical perspective. The strength of this work is its determination to explain to the reader how God intends the baptism of our covenant children to be a blessing to them, to the parents, and to the church. Baptism is an expression of God's love and faithfulness to his people, to their children, and to all who are far off that the Lord God calls to himself. Do you want to know more about this blessing? Pastor Helopoulos does an excellent job explaining it for you. Enjoy! ( Reviewed in the United States on September 22, 2021 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Ben Preiser -- Concise, packed with pastoral wisdom, and razor-sharp : "The discussions about [baptism] are worth having -- but always in love." So says Presbyterian pastor Jason Helopoulos on the last page of the book. This sentence encapsulates most of the book's best qualities. It is short and packed with meaning. It asserts Helopoulos' deep passion for the sacrament of baptism and his conviction that it's something Christians need to talk about. And it insists that these discussions -- which are so often known for being contentious if not downright nasty -- absolutely must be conducted in a spirit of Christian charity. Some books on baptism will talk down to opponents or wield scriptural texts as blunt instruments for rhetorical advantage. This is not one of them. - 5.0 out of 5 stars from Reader -- Biblical case for infant baptism : to confessional and biblical Presbyterians to give to a Baptist that is struggling with the biblical nature of infant baptism. The 30-40 pages of frequently asked questions at the back of the book alone are worth it to give to a skeptical baptist who is going to ask about half of these questions to you eventually. Churches should keep a few on hand to hand out. Highly recommended. ( Reviewed in the United States on September 22, 2021 )
